Shop Local

Today is May 1 and Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away. If you are like me, you want to do something special for your mom, but what?

This past year, I have learned how important it is to support local small business owners, after all, I am one! So I’m shopping local this year for Mother’s Day.

Wallburg Emporium and Coffee Shop not only sells some of the best coffee around and Java Sweets cookies, but it is an eclectic store that sells vintage antiques, beautiful floral arrangements and other unique gift ideas. Plus, its just a great place to have coffee and relax. I encourage you to stop by and take a look at what they have to offer.

If you would like to prepare a nice meal for your mom, then let me recommend a trip to the Butcher’s Block In Lexington, NC. There, you will find not only the choicest cuts of meat, but also gourmet chicken wraps filled with different kinds of cheese and veggies. The hard work is already done for you, just take and bake! They are delicious! Pick up some Queen Charlotte’s Pimento Cheese. It’s like no other pimento cheese I’ve ever had. You won’t be disappointed

Oh, and of course don’t forget they also carry Java Sweets’ cookie two packs…

But whatever you decide to buy or do for your mom, I’m sure the thought will mean more than the gift. At least it does for me.

Happy Mother’s Day!
